Exciting Funding News: Inclusive Communities Fund - A Legacy of the Commonwealth Games
KIC Radio are thrilled to announce that our organisation has successfully secured funding from the Inclusive Communities Fund - A legacy of the Commonwealth Games focused on empowering communities for positive change, creating a lasting legacy for the West Midlands, and seeking to address inequalities across the region.
Support from the Inclusive Communities Fund will enable Kids In Communication (KIC) to launch the KIC Inspire Volunteer Training Programme, a media-based initiative designed to engage, train, and empower young people through KIC Radio and its companion app.
About KIC Inspire
KIC Inspire is a dynamic volunteer programme aimed at young people aged 13 - 21 (up to 25 for those with Special Education Needs and Disabilities - SEND). This fully inclusive initiative focuses on supporting "ghost children", families in poverty, and those with mental health challenges.
KIC Radio and Companion App
At the heart of KIC Inspire is KIC Radio, a new interconnected online national youth radio station network led by young people for young people. The KIC Radio companion app is designed to engage young people through media content and signpost young people to local support services and resources.
Funding from the Inclusive Communities Fund enables the programme to meet several core objectives; Bringing People Together, Improving Health & Wellbeing, Help The Region to Grow, and Put The Region on the Map.
